Default Need help! 88 sat for 10 years!

I have a 88 that sat for about 10 years. I have the truck running but when I put it in gear it will pull itself however as soon as I try to give it gas it instantly dies. I’ve been trying to figure this out for about two months but have not been able to fix it because everything seems to be okay. Any help?

Have you checked that the brakes are not stuck? Jim

Likely vacuum leaks, sitting or running by now an 88 needs all the lines changed anyhow. Most use silicone hose and a few new Ts

Vacuum leaks & brakes are the tip of the iceberg... To help you, we need to know everything about the truck, and what you've done to it. Click this & read the caption:

Then put all the details into your signature:

This photo album's captions explain what I had to do to a truck that sat ~6 years:

I have replaced both fuel tanks, pumps, fuel filter, plugs and wires. The brakes aren’t locked up because with it in gear it will pull itself in drive and reverse for as long as I let it. Just as soon as I press the gas it dies.

Any codes present? Might be a good idea to clean up the throttle body. Some things to test..The IAC pintle/bore can be gunked up. The TPS is nothing more than a potentiometer. These things like a scratchy volume control, can get flakey when they are not operated for a long time. Check it with an analog VOM and make sure it has a smooth gradual change in resistance when rotated. It shouldn't be jumpy and erratic. Make sure that the wiring harnesses haven't been nibbled on by mice. The fuel injectors could also need a good cleaning from being inactive for so long.

I can't tell if you're saying "both pumps" or if you meant all "pumps". There are 3.

Have you checked fuel pressure with a gauge?

Start testing (NOT changing) all the sensors, as this caption describes:
