Is the distributor the original one? If so, check that too. I was chasing what I thought was a belt squeal for months. I changed the belt, tensioner, alternator, water pump and fan clutch and it didn't go away. I just changed the distributor this past weekend and it finally went away. Luckily all those other parts needed to be changed too so it wasn't a total waste of money. Once the distributor was removed i turned it by hand and it squealed like a bastard now the birdie under my hood is gone.

I would stay away from the belt dressing, it's a band-aid at best.

Im finally getting around to changing the fan clutch tomorrow so hopefully that will solve the problem thanks for the help.
