Default 1995 Prostreet/stock Truck build

Ok, a couple of you request a thread of my little undertaking, so here it is. The project is a 1995 F150 shortbed 2wd. When it's done, it should have a 521, with A429 heads, "mild" roller cam, 13:1 CR on alky. Undecided at this point if it will have a Holley or a toilet on it. 8.8 rear end from an explorer with disc, Yukon kit, 4.1 gear. Full Roller C6 with tbrake. 4 link rear, coil over fronts. 12 pt cage. Pretty much the only think not customized will be the tail lights lol. If the sim programs are anywhere close, she'll be making 750hp, weigh around 3000 and run very low 10's.
Here are some pictures of the project so far. (I'll try to put them in some sort of order.)

maybe because he wants to see just where the tire ends up when the axle snaps or the whole center section blows apart on the very first pass...LOL

8.8 wont live long in a 12 second vehicle let alone a heavier one with much more power...

with a big block and that much planed power i would have went Dana 60 and called it a day....

even a 9 inch wouldnt hold that power without serious modifications....

Wow, not sure where you get your info. I know of a bunch of 8.8 and 9 inchers behind a lot more power than I'll be making and in cars as heavy or heavier. Also I did not say the 8.8 was stock.
I went with the 8,8 for a couple of reasons. 1. Cost to build, 2. It is from an explorer so it already has disc brakes. 3. Yukon Gear makes a kit for this specific axle that comes with upgraded axles and a c-clip eliminator. All said and done, I'll only have about $850 in the axle (900 with the 4 link brackets I made)

My plan is to get the build done with this setup, then upgrade to a 9 inch later when I recover from the cost of the build.

What about your speedometer? Does the Explorer rear have the VSS? A nine inch won't. No speedo, no ABS, no automatic transmission control.

There are 8 second mustangs with 8.8's. I also ran one in my rockcrawler explorer with 35" swampers, wheeled the F@#K out of it, and never even broke a c-clip. They are a pretty stout rear-end.....

Not sure this build will ever see the "Daily Driver" status Sean. Most Pro Street vehicles don't want a speedometer, anti locks, or electronic transmissions. Might see a trans brake though. Tach, Oil, Water, Volts, maybe trans temp or whatever else he wants to monitor will suffice for gauges. Your probably being sarcastic, in which case, you got me this time. Lol

Not being sarcastic. I would think he would use a stick, who cares about ABS, but I would want a speedometer.
