Default 1995 F-150 5.0 (302) fuel suckage...

I've got my departed older brothers '95 F-150 Eddie Bauer that he bought new in February of '95...133K, beautiful shape, beautiful rig. Typically, sucks a lot of fuel. I've owned several F-150/250 generally with gutless 351's that sucked fuel. Not like this 302 which seems to be much more robust than those 351 pigs. If I put a set of shorty headers on it and duel it off...will that help??

I would determine your final gear ratio first. I wonder how much your engine is revving at 65 mph?

That's not much of a description - no tire size, gear ratio, transmission model, list of options, accessories, mods, damage, repairs, maintenance... Nothing to help us figure out if the fuel consumption is appropriate or not. Click this, read the caption, and put it all into your signature:

They do that, especially when you drive them "a lot". But if you think it's too much, you're going to have to be specific about MPG, and tell us how exactly you're measuring & calculating it. Click this, read it, and its caption:

It'll help the people who sell them to you. It'll help the economy. But it won't help you, the truck, or increase MPG. Those 3 will suffer.

those old 5.0 motors really like to suck the gas. they tend to burn more than the 4.6L 2V. like steve said, we need more information on the truck
