All trucks originally had step sides or flatbeds. In the 1950s the first Style-sides were seen. I think Fords first was for 1957 and Chebby was the Cameo in 1955 (working from memory, but it should be close).

Ford and Chevy have always offered a Step Side bed, I don't know if they are available after 2000 though. They are rarer and usually worth a few bucks more.

They are not regional. It was just an option that you could buy. In the 1980s it was popular to purchase an aftermarket step side for the mini trucks.

I've always liked the look.

Ford has not always had the stepside option. There was none from 1988-91 and was dropped again from 2010-present

i also bought a 94 flareside but mine has the crew cab. is mine a rareity because it has the stepside and crew cab otions in one?

None of them are rare. It's just a Flareside.

very nice find my friend! Ive had my 93 flareside for about 2 years now. Amazing truck esp with straight cats =)

is yours a f150 crewcab? the f150 crewcrab was a pretty rare option to find, i've heard most were in the south west.
i guess thats so the day laborers at home depot could ride in the trucks. lol

mt bad it's a supercap. still getting use to the truck body names because this is my first truck lol. i like it though and gives me more options to haul cars and parts for my cutlass. nice trucks on this forum for sure
