Default 92 F-150 5.0L running good till 2000 RPM +

I have a 92 F-150 5.0 EFI auto(D) Fresh Tune (new plugs-wires-pcv-fuel filter-Air Filter-trans service-Oil change-Distrib Cap-rotor Bug-91 Octane

Idles High till ready..RPM drops to Normal ..all good..Pull out..runs nice..sounds good (Like a 5.0 should...NO CEL. Good power till 2000 RPM..then she starts a slight Missing..Push the pedal..get Motor RPM... get little power..lots of sound..just wimpy power...

When tranny goes to High.. (auto Overdrive) all sound good as long as below 2000 rpm..aprox 70 MPH..then the missing starts...back off..still a slight miss..but comes back to stock power (so it seems)..cruising aling I get a Bucking..and the Motor seems to change tone..continue along (wondering WTF)..get to light..Truck seems to want to accel some..come to powered (motor) stop..Truck still wants to acell a bit..evens surges a couple times..stopped..truck idle high..when stopped..idle falls to normal..sits and idles good..pull away..accels good but not normal sound..has a slight miss..engine tone sounds OK.. Pull away again..truck runs OK till next stop (light/stop sign..Truck wants to accel..have to Brake it like I have left foot on brake and right on gas..but..I am only using the Brake..truck wants to keep going....when stopped truck idle high (1200+) then falls to normal again..slight fuel smell in air..then dissapates...this is repeated over and over...whats wrong with LiL Red!!!???

Yes, check for codes. Sounds like a possible TPS problem but don't go buying one until we see what the codes are.

Well now the Heap..runs fairly well.. whenever it wants to..Bucks and jerks..Idles Normal..sometime she runs Good..and then outta no where ...like crap..park her..then next day all good..then it starts again...I am looking at a Silverado 4x4...there are NO Codes..least from what I counted..going to just get a OBD1 scanner..and go from there..This is getting OLD!!!

Plugs are NEW..but now look like crap..Black! Been changed twice...smels like running rich...

Think I will change the Coolant Temp sensor..the Throttle pos sensor and Gut the Cat...and clean the Throttle body..

Any other ideas..if so lemme know...if this dont work..I might have to get rid of ole Red...

Even no codes result in: 1pause1pause1. 11 or 111 code.

http://www.handsontools.com/Equus-In...ol_p_5574.html Here's a good, inexpensive obd1 digital numeric display code reader w/ memory. Also, the ECT sensor should not be confused w/ the Coolant temp. sender.

Thanks for the Info..
Today I took her for a 15 mile spin..Lunges alot..about ran over a parking stop and almost lunged into the back of a Car..Is this truck having Toyota issues??? Idles fine..then outta nowhere idle jumps to 1700...then slowly falls to around 800..then quickly climbs to 2200. Put it in gear and drops to normal..and then repeats ...have to brake it to keep from taking off..like I was punching it a bit...Code reader ordered!!!!

Johnny
