Default 1993 F-150 - The Project

Currently 17 years old, been driving the beast for a little over a year now, started off in the neighbors yard, not running, knowing the transmission was shifting hard, purchased for $1000. Put about $6000 into, from new belts, hoses, brakes, brake lines, body work, new tires and wheels, etc etc. Now shes running full synthetic everything, rocking 31 inch mud tires, scheduled for new transmission and torque converter on Thursday. I know its menial, but the group of guys I hang out with (the offroad, 4x4, rednecks) all drive chevys, and I don't know if that's why they give me a hard time about my truck, or if they just think its a POS. They all keep saying I should just sell it, and that even after the trans is fixed its not worth keeping. Is there something I'm missing here, or are chevy guys @$$holes?

Just feeling down about my truck, even though I know it would rip their trucks apart.

I know how you feel. I live 20 miles from a Chevy factory so everyone drives chevys.(at one point I had the only Ford truck in the hs parking lot ) I got allot of **** for it in high school too. It sounds like you have put allot of time and money in to you're truck. Be proud of it and all the work you have in it! And post up some pics so we can see it.

Tell those Chevy guys to shut the hell up and fix their oil leaks and piston slap.

Had a few chevy's, had a few fords. They're both good trucks. At this point in my life, i could just buy whatever truck I wanted. My choice - 95 F150. I like it better than any of the chevs I had. Quite a bit better.
You have nothing to prove to them - except maybe that you're capable of making up your own mind about what you like.

The rust on wheel wells and next to the doors has been bondo-d.

I'll snap some more in a few hours when I get a chance!
