Default 89 f150 engine idle issue

Hi guys, this is my first post here and appreciate any help. I am a first time owner of a ford pickup. Found 89 f150 4.9 4x4 that had been sitting couple years. The price was right so I bought it. Changed fuel filter added some fresh fuel and a little battery jump and sure enough it ran. Seemed to run pretty good for sitting so long. Anyway first problem I ran into was a mouse nest in the bell housing. Found it after driving the truck for bout a week and noticing clutch slippage. Bought clutch kit and installed it, also replaced master cylinder and slave. Bleeding the internal slave is a real pain in the ****. I think there is a liitle more air stuck in the line just doesnt engage/disengage like i think it should.
Anyway, ever since I did the clutch the engine surges. More at idle but can tell its there at higher rpms as well. Truck starts up great when cold then is hard to start after its been driven few miles. I changed the coolant temp sensor today and it didn't change much. Truck does have new plugs, fuel filter, new coolant temp sensor, and fresh oil change. Have checked for vacuum leaks and found none. Air filter and delivery seems ok. Just looking for ideas.

Sorry to be soo long winded just wanted to tell as much as I could to solve the problem.
