Chips aren't worth anything on OBDI trucks.

Heads, headers, exhaust system, cam, electric fan, and maybe rocker arms are about the only things you can do. Other wise stroke it out to a 331.

92 5.0 is still a MAP engine. The MAP system can't accommodate very well to "upgrades" so something like chipping it would be completely pointless, unless you are willing to do the MAF conversion.

The camshaft alone on your '92 pretty much cripples any real ability to see any benefits from most upgrades.

Seeing that the '92 camshaft is such a weak spot, if you're not looking to go into your engine, you might want to focus on spending money on upgrading your exhaust since it seems like you have a stock setup.

A single 3" mandrel bent exhaust will probably get you a decent return on the investment.

$500-$600......

As good as your truck looks, I'm assuming you've done all of the tune up stuff and ran new vacuum hoses and it's in perfect running condition.

With that being said......I'd say you probably might want to look at swapping your cam out. There are some options. You can use a stock cam out of a 94-96 F150 or a 96-01 Explorer. You could probably procure one of those very cheap or even free and spend the rest of your $$$ on new springs and other things that would be necessary for your repair.

Here is a thread I wrote awhile back about engine upgrades. If time is on your side, find yourself a roller block and slap it on a stand and build it to your exact specs over time.
