Default Driver side courtesy light

Hello everyone, I recently purchased a 1992 F-150 XLT 2WD regular cab. I have noticed that the courtesy lights don't come on when I open my driver side door, but they do turn on when I open the passenger side door. I found the switch that controls the courtesy lights on the passenger side, but it seems the driver side doesn't have the same switch. Was it an option to only have the switch on one door? The driver side has a chime switch only, and the passenger side has the courtesy light switch only.

Yes, '92-93 trucks had that oddball left courtesy switch, and it controls the lights AND the chime. It's very common for rain leaks to combine with soft-drink spills under the threshold and turn the wiring into green goo. If the wires are OK, then the switch has probably just failed. They're available new, but identify the problem BEFORE buying any parts. Your truck's courtesy circuit is nearly identical to this:

You should put ALL the truck's details & history (as much as you know) into your signature so it shows with each post, as this page explains:

Phone apps don't always show signatures, so you may need to switch to a real browser in desktop mode on your phone, or just use a desktop/laptop computer. Put your location in your profile & upload an avatar of the truck. The more pics you post of the truck, engine, wiring, labels, & undercarriage, the more likely we can help you. Not all its details are relevant to these issues, but you don't necessarily know which ones are relevant, so just put everything in now.

Thank you for the reply @Steve83 , where is the best place to look for said wires? I just got this truck on Tuesday and it seems like an extremely well kept truck. The chime works on the driver side just fine, but the dome lights don't kick on with the driver door open, but they come on when the passenger side is opened. I also updated my avatar, location, and signature.

We assume it's an F150 built in the 1900s because you posted here, so you can omit that and use the space for more details. Without losing any info, your sig could be reduced to
92 XLT Reg.Cab 2WD 117"WB 5.0L 3.55 open, dual tanks, 112Kmi, ventshades
You have no info about the colors (inside or out), tires, radio, damage, repairs, or maintenance; and very little about the options or mods. The only place to look for wires is where they are - those are under the driver's threshold, near that switch.
