1991 F150 Radio Help
Hey. I recently attempted to swap out the original radion in my 1991 Ford F-150 with a new cd player and I am kind of stuck on which colored wires stand for what. I found the left and right speakers using a D-cell battery but that is about as far as I got. If anyone knows the wiring for a '91 F-150 that would be awesome. Also, just yesterday, my friend was messing around with the where the radio was and he touched two of the wires, they sparked, and now my dash/climate control lights do not work. I checked the fuze and it appears to be fine. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Andrew

When I purchased the truck, the radio was in it but the wires were already cut. Looks to be a failed attemp by the previous owner. I have the adapter I need but I need to wire the old wires to the adapter wires and the colors between the two are completely different.

Ok I just went out and checked on my 88 the wires going into the plug are
green/yellow stripe = constant 12v
yellow/brown stripe = ignition 12v
blue/red stripe = illumination
I dont know about the ground or speaker wires because i ran new ones and ripped the old ones out
Just to be safe check the wires with a test light.. thats the best way to find your wires the wires may have changed between 88 and 91

Alright thanks man, that'll definately help. Your truck looks good! It looks alot like my '91. I have some touching up to do but I was also thinking of doing the spray paint scenario. I think the only color you can really spray on yourself is that flat black. That is the color of mine now but just needs to bondo and love. Did you sand it all down first?
