Update!
This past weekend I finally was able to get to my Intake and re-do it. Before I get to that... After my last post we had to move and I left the truck at a friends. I had him take it to someone he knows to see what they could do. Well, $365 later and a new Distributor, it was fixed,,,so they said. It took me a while to get to the truck and get it back to my new home, in MI That was a couple months ago. when I picked it up, it ran crappy. Sure, better then it was but, still crappy. I decided to just re-do the Intake all together and did that this past weekend.

It was clear after removal that the gasket was leaking... so, I re-installed new gaskets and torqed down the intake bolts this time. First problem was drinking beer with my son and trying to make decisions...lol The book says for 3/8's bolts torq to 33 ft lbs and for 5/16's bolts, torq to 25 ft lbs. I thought they were 3/8's,,, ended up breaking one bolt off before re-reading....

Moving on.. I am confident that the Intake is sealed good this time but, the truck still does not run 100% It idles erratic, not terrible but bad enough for me. Haven't taken it for a ride yet but, I will shortly. Being a business owner that entails driving a big rig Over The Road, makes for very little time at home.

Does anyone think the Edlebrock intake would cause any problems with the SD system?

Man,,,time sure does fly. Here is my update; After re-seating the Intake Manifold the truck did run "better" but still not perfect. I took some code readings and found that I was still getting a code for the fuel pump so, I replaced it. I started by removing the box and than replacing the pump. The one I was sent, had some broken parts so, I tried to cobble the two (old and new) together to make due but, that turned out to be all but impossible so, had to get another new one, at the cost of Amazon of course.

Man, after replacing the fuel pump the truck came alive and can now be driven again but,,,when I let off the fuel, like coming to a stop, it dies and idles a little rough.

Since I had the box off, I decided to cut of those welded on coil springs, on my rear axle. I also replaced my shocks and 4" lift blocks. My son & I started working on the front coil spring install about 2 weekend's ago. That is going to take a minute but we did get the old coil spring out of the front and the new one in place, just need to buy some seat's for the new coil springs and get a few tools to cut of some rivet's and what not. I decided last weekend to pull off the throttle body and see if there is still oil behind it,,,sure enough, there is oil there. I just don't understand where it could be coming from... I sure would love to hear some opinions..
