All I can say is that better/more expensive controller isn't always worth it. A couple have had the $100+ controller burn out and several of us are running the $18 controller with great results. Also using it on my two gm products to control the hd transmission coolers with no issues.
Just sayin'
I hear you. The only thing I'm worried about it is getting it hooked up. The shop has wired my truck to have the fan on high anytime the ignition is on. You think it would be very difficult for them to re-wire it? Also I'm not convinced the other controller is bad. The shop said they tried to bypass the Potentiometer and it would "just click". What would be the easier way to test the controller? I was thinking hook it up to low speed only to a battery then get water over 180 deg and dip the temp probe in the water and see if the fan comes on. I don't think they did that or anything similar. Just tried to get the truck up to temp and it never came on, then the tried bypassing the temp setting to make it kick on and that didn't work for them so they said it's a faulty controller. Thoughts? I need this fixed ASAP b/c I can't drive around with it on high all the time. I drags the power down a lot at times
