I am restoring a 1989 f150 5.0 what would be the best high performance engine that would interchange, and where would be a good place to purchase.

It all depends on your definition of "high performance".


Do you want:
- better 1/4 mile times
- more torque for towing
- higher miles per gallon


All scenarios will take a different engine configuration. Also, tell us your truck configuration, transmission, pumpkin gearing, etc. your better performance may come from a change in gearing.
