Wouldn't say that's a good reference, my lariat doesn't have a tach and I've seen plenty without it.

Same as mine, except someone optioned for a/c. It's a base model. Even the base model got intermittent wipers.

But is yours an XL Lariot ...or... XLT Lariot? I haven't done a bunch of investigating but it seems like everything I've seen with a tach was XLT.

My 87 XLT Lariat didn't come with a tach.

Mine had a tach also, because it was a stick.

Thanks for all the help. I have another question, are some of my emblems 1987-specific?

Was ford just retarded in the end of the last century?
Custom
XL
XLT
Nite/Eddie Bauer/Lightning
Lariot
Bigfoot Cruiser
These where the sub-models from base to all the bells and whistles, pretty much any option available on a lower sub was to be standard on the ones above it. What doesn't make any sense at all to me is why ford would give XLT's with autos a tach and not a manual transmission Lariot. Common sense would think that A. All manual transmissions should have a tach standard B. A lariot package truck would have everything that the XLT does regardless of transmissions.

So, just for my curiosity, are there any auto xlt's without a tach? What about manual xlt's?
