Default What's the story behind it; 2003 or 2004 F150?

OK, so I've heard and read the Heritage Edition F150 was the left over 2003 models re-badged and declared the Heritage Edition for the early 2004 model year.

But 48 hours ago, I bought a 2003 F150 4x4 Supercab Heritage Edition. It has the special two tone paint job and the 100th Anniversary 1903-2003 Heritage Edition Badges.

The door says it was manufactured 09/2002 as a 2003. So it would not seem the Heritage Edition was an afterthought to use up the left over 2003 models.

Does anyone know anything more on the Heritage Edition? All I know is I love the looks and drive of this truck and am happy to join the F150 family...

Interesting... So it appears the 2003 model is the real "Heritage Edition" by definition.

The truck is a 2003 100 yr Heritage Ford truck model. The left over '03 models were sold as an '04 Heritage version but not as fancy as the '03. They did something similar in '96 when the '97 model's came out. Marketing ploy!

I agree, very nice truck. Keep it long enough and it will be collectable.

Thanks Lenn

When I saw it, I thought "always ready" and knew she was a find. Wheeled and Dealed then drove 6 hours one way to pick her up.
