    @Ekusa:
    I did it the easy way as a trial to ensure I liked it before making it more permanent.

    (EDIT) 0. I removed the grille from the truck to avoid having to mask everything.
    1. I masked off the chrome bars and the little supporting crossmembers.
    2. I pulled out the little egg crate side grilles.
    3. I sprayed a couple coats of plasti-dip as a primer.
    4. A couple coats of black automotive spray paint I had laying around. I didn't colour match as this was just a trial.
    5. A few coats of automotive clear coat.
    End of story.
    It is holding up amazingly well. It seems very chip resistant. Perhaps due to the plasti-dip primer. I do intend to do a better job of it with actual prep and primer work one day but this works great for now and makes the truck stand out a little bit.
    Lmk if you need more info.

    Hey, I just saw your grille, and it's exactly what I have been wanting to do with my XLT.

    Would be kindly tell me how you did it and what you used?
    Thanks.

    The RAS is great. Install was remarkably easy. I'm a handyman/fix-it type but I'm no mechanic. It couldn't have been simpler to set up. My truck looks a bit funny with an extra inch of rake on it though.
    I have not towed or hauled much in the last couple months. It'll get a workout in September I hope.

    I have the 3611Y. I think the SCrews all use 3611Y. The original group buy thread has the details:

    How is your RAS working? Any problems with install? I needed to order a shorter hook to go over the spring eye (Kit #3611Y instead of 3611). Thought it might be because of MaxTow, but you have MaxTow too.

    Thanks, that's the first encouraging word I've had on this issue. Everyone has told me it can't be done, including dealers.
