Hello Al, I hope all is going ok with you. The last time we communicated onsite, you were going to go with the 14 inch magnaflow muffler on your new truck. I was just wondering if you did go with that muffler set up and if you did, how do you like the sound and how does your wife like the truck and the set up. How is your truck doing now on the gas mileage ? I am getting from 19 to 20 mpg on mine combination town and highway for the most part however I have no complaint's with mine. Take care Al.

Good afternoon Al. Its good hearing from you. We also live on a little country acreage in Southeast Oklahoma. Well, let me know what you think about the sound with that 14 inch muffler. I do like the sound overall, but at times its a little loud. When I first did it, my wife said " why does your truck sound different" , I said, I don't know what your talking about , We had a good laugh. How are you liking your Eco boost engine on your wife's 12. I thought about the eco but just wasn't happy with what I was reading about them and some having their problems. Al, have a good upcoming weekend and stay in touch.

Good morning. 1st of all, thanks for your response. We live on some acreage just outside of Fulton, Mo. I retired from the Nuclear Plant near Fulton in 09' and the wife retired from their in 13'.

I have decided to go with the 14" Magnaflow and leave the resonator on, like yours. I am going in Monday the 25th to have it installed. With the stock muffler the 5.0 just gives a hint of what it could sound like. I am hoping the wife can live with it. The shop is only charging me $140 for about any size Magnaflow with installation so worst could happen is to have to spend another $140. In 2008 I bought a new Mustang Bullitt and kept it for a few years and the wife loved to drive it, so she may be ok. She only rides in the 13' 5.0 truck most of the time as claims our 12' Ecoboost SCrew, that we bought to pull our travel trailer, as her vehicle.

Good morning Al. I hope you too are enjoying your retirement and that new truck. I will say that the 14 inch muffler has a definite growl to it on moderate acceleration and I do like that but sometimes i wonder how the 18 inch muffler would have sounded. The 14 inch muffler has a little drone to it but not enough to stop a conversation or drown out the radio when cruising. When you put your foot in it, that 5.0 will talk to you. If I had to do it all over again I would still install the 14 inch muffler. Back in the late 60s my brother and I raced cars on the strip so I still like my automobiles just not quite as fast as back then.. Where in Mo do you live, my wife and I like to spend a little time in Branson Mo from time to time. Good luck on your muffler decision and let me know what you decided on.

Goodmorning Redfred. I saw your post on the F150 forum about having a 14" Magnaflow on your truck. I looked up your profile and you seem to be similar age to me. I am retired too. I just bought a 2013 with 5.0 and am interested in giving it a little sound. I am wanting sound on acceleration but want to hear the radio and and carry on a conversation when cruising. Question, if you bought a new truck today, would you go with the 14" again or go with an 18" or bigger? I would want to leave the resonator on. Thank you in advance for your time. Cemo (Al Johnson- Central Mo)
