    Hello rawgee:
I had battery problems with my 2011 F-150 with the 5 liter engine. The dealer blamed it on the fact that I hardly ever drive it in the summer. The replaced the battery and then the alternator. Took it down to the US and even after all that distance the warning light and messages would come on. Here is the remedy:
    1. If you charge the battery be sure to disconnect it - the on board computer has to be re-booted.
    2. Every 4 to 6 months you have to clean the battery terminals with one of those two dollar wire brushes you can get Canadian Tire or any auto store. I have been driving for over 55 and have never come across the problem where the battery posts and the clamp material are so incompatible.
