    Hey Paw Paw,
First of I want thank you for all the help your provide on this site and your service to this great country we live in.
I do have a quick question about your tint if you got a minute.
From your profile what I can tell is you have 3M tint In 25%. I was wondering how this tint matched the factory back windows color wise and darkness wise. If you could do it all again would you go with the same tint you have now?
    Thank you

Love the truck. I want to go with the same combo. What kind of MPG are you getting with the 3.55 gears and that level/tire combo? Thanks!

PawPaw, just laid eyes on my new Platinum. It's in the clean-up bay, and I'll pick it up tomorrow. Merry Christmas to me. And Merry Christmas to you and the entire PawPaw family.

Thanks Bud. Yeah it will be Ruby Red w/Pecan leather. A 5.0 4x2. Here in the piedmont section of North Carolina snow isn't a problem. And, the most off roading I do is into the Starbuck's parking lot. Hopefully in 6 - 8 weeks (always the answer when you ask) I'll have some pics. Jim

What's up my friend. After driving both, some fairly easy negotiations, I'll be ordering the new Platinum tomorrow. Thanks again for being my sounding board. Old guys rule, young guys drool.

    You friend,
    Jim

Well Brother Don, one would think at our age picking a new vehicle would be easy. I'm here to tell you that thought just won't fly. Even though the Wifey has said I could get the Platinum, I keep going back to the Lariat. With all the gizmo's, and ordering the moonroof that would come on the Lariat, the Platinum is $3000 more. I was raised by parents that lived the depression, I was reminded often that money doesn't grow on trees. Being lucky, and very blessed the $3000 isn't an issue on paper, but in my mind I just can't justify the difference in price. I don't think the Platinum, while a very nice truck, will make me any happier than the Lariat. Decisions, decisions. Thanks for listening. I know you this understand where a younger person would not. I'm going to drive both tomorrow. I'll see if that helps, but I'm not betting it will.

    Your friend,
    Jim

You are correct my freind, and she has great taste in men. After 35 years of marriage and over 40 years together, I have taught her all of my old gearhead ways. She know what looks good, and what doesn't so I refer to her for help. She really like the Lariat, but when I showed her the Plat. she liked it too. And like she said, you can't take it with you. As we get older we understand that even more. My plans (if I don't get the itch to bad) is to wait until after January, then get serious.

Well PawPaw, when I said I had a good woman, I underestimated how good. I was messing around looking at new F-150's, and came across a Ruby Red Platinum. I pushed the computer over, and said look at this. She looked, and ask what's the difference. So I opened up side by side screens with the R.R. Lariat, and the Plat. and described the differences. Then that woman said, "I like the Platinum better, what the price difference" I told her about $2000, and then she said, "You can't take it with you, get the Plat if you want it". Damn near fell off the couch. So, guess what......

Thanks for the info. brother Don. The Wifey is a good woman, even after living with me all these years. I know of what you speak about retirement. We just got back from a western trip to the badlands, went to Gatlinburg last weekend, and heading to Myrtle Beach the end of the month. I'm gonna be so tired we are going off to Orlando the first of Dec. to rest. I had a guy tell me the other day he didn't like retirement, I told him he just wasn't doing it right. Enjoy the golf tourney, Jim
