Hello norCal-09, Alleydock06 here. Just wanted to update you. I went with the 285/75/18" Toyo A/T's, 2.5" Level Kit and recalibrated my speedo, could'nt be more pleased !!! What did you do about the spare tire ?? I still have the original 17" under the truck, but will put the same size 18" under there, if it will fit ??? I know the 17" will cause problems with my ABS and limited Slip, if I don't change. Since I have a shortbed, putiing the spare anywhere but under the truck, is out of the question. Any advice ? Thanks.
NorCal, old buddy, old friend, and Comrade in arms, Gimme the 411, have you got that new FX in the driveway yet.? As it has been siad, "I gots to know".
i was going to do the exact setup you did on my 2010 4x4 screw. but for only 1.5 in increase did you really think it was worth it? ecspecially on the 18s.they are sooo freakin exspensive!! i know it fills in the wheel well better, which is something i was looking for, but does it make it LOOK just a little bit more stout (tough)?? im not lookin for mud boggers, just want it to look a little bit better. if you dont answer it aint no thing just lookin for a quick yes or no, as far as is it worth it?( in your mind)
did you level just the front of your truck or the back as well
also did you have to take out the fenderguards to keep from rubbing or is there no work done other than level kit and tires? I have a grey xlt 4x4 and im wanting to to do the exact same thing and get the tallest tire i can without doin any cutting and still having it not rub at all
I have a similar truck (2010 fx4, sterling grey). I have a level, nothing in rear, and it is time to replace the stock tires. How do the A/T's handle mud and sand? I have seen you speak of snow, but we dont get much in South Texas.
Hey NorCal I am curently struggling with the same choice as you were. I also have a 09 supercrew that I want to replace tires on. I plan on keeping factory wheels like you. When you had your 2" leveling kit installed did that include anything on the rear. If you had to guess how much taller is your truck now than when it was? Ive been looking at tires in that tire size not that many to choose from. I was set on the goodyear silent armor tire but dont they dont seem to make them that size. What other tires were you considering if you dont mind me asking? Ive been in circles trying to figure out what I need to do. I do like your truck just hard to tell how tall it is. Thanks for any direction you can give me.
