    I usually use semi-metallics and never have a problem with the metal shavings. If the spots you're talking about are on your paint then it sounds like rail dust or industrial fallout. You'll want to do a claybar treatment to get it out. Just buffing and wax won't do it. Most trucks get it from being shipping on the trail to the dealer, but you can also pick it up from parking near rail lines or manufacturing areas.
