    I'd try to clean it first, if your going to work on it you might as well just do it right, and that way you can get a good look at whats inside the pan at the same time, sludge, metal shavings (hope not), whatever. If there's no sludge and the pickup screen is clean, you may want to replace the oil pump, because no sludge and low oil pressure is probably a good indicator of as failing pump.
