FordMech, I have an CEL which I am try to find out the cause currently without a reader on my 95' F150 5.0

Found a vacumn line from the EGR soleniod to the manifold and canister that was in bad shape. I replaced that.

    1. Found a "white" vacumn line? coming from the wiring harness where there is just about 12inches left sitting loose inside the passenger inner fender. What its purposed? Am I missing something here?

    2. After replacing the EGR VAC lines described. I'm actually getting a consistent result in the driveway after warm up CEL on at 650RPM increase to 2000RPM and it goes off after several tests it comes back on and off.

Can I assume then the soleniod is working and the diaphram is also?

I was thinking if I could determine that everything is working in the EGR system that would be the most probably cuase of the CEL Especially since I now have to go in and pass for a smog certification it takes place Of course! Thanks, FordBourne
