Hey, Glad I could help. I'm from Alberta and installed mine in the winter too but I was lucky to have access to a heated shop. I let the truck warm up for a couple hours first, then wiped the area with rubbing alcohol to take any wax off. The letters don't need to sit any length of time after the install. I pulled my truck out right after. I wouldn't add any adhesive. The letters have the same tape used on the other emblems on the truck so they will be stuck on good. I wash my truck at work with a really high pressure wash gun and have never had a problem. Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Hey Foose,
I stumbled upon your posts as a guest to the forum regarding the platinum box letters. First of all I would just like to say thanks for pointing me in the right direction as I ordered some through Fairway Ford and they got delivered today. I was just hoping you would be able to give me some insight on installation. I seen that you used painters tape and used rubbing alcohol when installing. With being from Manitoba its still fairly cold here so I take it they should be installed in a warm area, I'm just wondering how long should the letters sit before they are exposed to the cold. Also should I add any other type of adhesive to strengthen the bond. I'd be pretty rattled if a month down the road a letter failed because I'm washing my truck with a pressure washer for example. Thanks for your time!

Hi Bruce, I got the letters from my local ford dealership, any dealership can get them. They come factory on all F-250 Platinum's. They were 96.00 each side. I used 1.5" painters tape for spacing down from the black plastic bed caps, really easy to install. The 4x4 stickers come off really easy with a hair dryer and your finger nail.
Let me know if you have any more questions.

FooseF150, may I ask where you got the Platinum Box Letters for the side of your Truck? I have a 2011 Platinum and would like to add the letters to the side of mine. I'm also trying to remove the 4x4 Stickers on the side and replace them with the same size chrome Box Number's. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
