i haven't had any luck myself. i had my steering rack replaced twice (on my third rack) and had the lower steering shaft replaced and still have the same problem(s). if you take the lower steering shaft off, you can wiggle the steering rack's input shaft back and forth about a .25" and that's the problem...

to fix the problem, i have designed a collar to go around the input shaft, but i still need to figure out how to easily install it the the tight space

This is Combat Vet (Glenn). Just wanted you to know that I contacted the only other forum member from San Diego who posted problems with his EPAS. Back in July the dealer replaced his lower steering shaft and he has not had any problems since that repair. I was at that dealership a few days ago and sat down with the service director. Great guy. I will take the truck in for the exact same repair after the holidays. I do not want the entire rack replaced -yet.
Have you gone thru an entire rack replacement yet? I kinda loose track of who has, and who hasn't. As you said, these Chinese racks are junk. Hoping that better QC of the junk will solve these problems.
