I have a question about the install of the light guards on the back. On mine they seem to pull the light away from the side of the truck...is that normal? It rains like CRAZY where I live so I took them back off because I was worried about water getting in there.

Light grit , nothing to rough. You just want to scuff the surface so that it's not to smooth but not put any deep scratches and this way the spray will stick even better. It will look crappy after you sand it but the spray will cover all imperfections. I believe I used 800 grit.
I've had my stars painted about a year now and they still look
