I did notice a little increase, but then, my setup is longtube headers, and xpipe, which always gave me a lot of power. They were a pain in the ass to put in. I had to drop the k member to install them, but it was worth it.
I think JBA makes shorty tube headers for the 4.6 f150. Im gonna do some research on those. If the install is easy, Im gonna go for it. Big power gains when going to a tube header. Do you have a stang too?
I like it. Ive had flowmaster on my stang and only lasted a year, now I have magnaflow on it, and it still looks new. This magnaflow kit on my truck doesnt sound like my mustang, but has a deep mellow tone to it. Ive had many people in the area twisting their necks to see where the sounds coming from. Stainless steel is the way to go. I have no drone which is good. Its very quiet inside until you mash down on the pedal.
Your truck sounds pretty nice from looking at the mods, throw some pics of that bad boy lol
Just heard back from my cousin...His response was "yeah especially for the shift mods" i know these things raise the shift pressure and shift point and are supposed to actually be better than stock (stock is designed for comfort) I know the superchip really jammed it in there (i think it might have been too much pressure) The edge seems a lot smoother but the shifts are still firmer, but not as firm as the superchip...(you have the option to make them that way if you want though) So the edge may be better for your tranny...Im not trying to sell you on the edge or anything, im just saying, i came from the superchip and the difference is night and day man.
Well, at first i had the superchip on the 4.2...I then put the superchip my 5.4...The superchip was really barely noticeable on the 5.4...Yes you do get a few more power gain for the 5.4, but the 4.6 is still a V8 so there is still a bit of power locked away. My cousin had it on his 4.6 and liked it, but ended up getting a new truck with the 5.4...so now he loves it...Honestly, if you can dump that superchip off on someone else, then yeah i would get the edge, there is really a noticeable gain compared to the superchip. As far as the tranny goes, my cousin has no problems with the tranny on his nor did he have any problems with his 4.6 tranny...He had the edge on his 4.6 for about 2 1/2 years, and has had it on his 08 for about a year now with no problems. Ive had it on my 08 for about 6 months with no problems as well. Ill shoot my cousin a quick text message to see if how much the edge helped out his 4.6 to see if its worth it or not for that motor...
I never did that but supposedly that resets the computer to where they cant tell its been flashed recently and allows the computer to recognize all the DTC's
If you are worried about the your tranny, set the truck to stock, unplug the battery for a good hour (or overnight) drive around for about a tanks worth and take it in.
I sold my flashpaq about 2 weeks ago now, got an edge instead...The 87 performance on edge smoke the 91 performance on flashpaq...And the gauges are cool too...
