Description:
pictures go with steps
materials I used- 1 Autometer 04-08 A-pillar double gauge pod(ebay- $32), 1 can of Brite Touch- general purpose grey primer, 1 can of Dupli-Color Vinyl & Fabric tan coating, masking tape, and a spiral ring note book/ or paper.
pre-fab- take your masking tap and with the sticky side up, tape and edge the whole PERIMETER of the gauge pod. At this point you should have 1/4 inch of sticky tape sticking out under the pod, flush with the bottom, on all parts of the pod.
Next take some newspaper, spiral paper, Chevrolet ads etc. and put nice big pieces to cover up your overspray.
pic1/ step 1.) now that your pod is neatly prepared with overspray protection, go ahead and add two coats of grey primer. Note- in between coats find a place with a lot of air movement and let your pod dry for 15 mins each coat(i used our a/c induction vent- sped up the drying process)
pic2/step 2.) Before spraying any tan paint on the pod, shake the hell out of the can for at least 30 seconds, its vinyl so it settles. Once the paint is mixed up, spray the pod and let it dry for 45mins-1hour.
step 3/pic 3.) Now things are starting to look familiar, repeat step 2 and let dry. Notice my nice new 7 color changing gauges(oil pressure exact-tact both 52mm they fit snug in the pod).
step 4/pic 4.) Admire and check out how nice your new gauges are gonna look once the pod is complete.
Step 5/pic 5.) repeat step 3, as many times as you want until the pod is completely painted and ready for installation.
