painted the stockers black
HERE'S THE PROCESS
i used 2 coats of flat black primer, 2 coats of gloss black, and 1-2 coats of clear coat. all paint was dupli-color. the process b4 the paint is of course the hardest. you can prep it different ways. seeing that my rims were pretty fresh i didn't sand them. here are the steps
1. i washed them off with a hose.
2. dry with a clean towel
3. stick duct tape in between the rim and tire all the way around
4. put another row of duct tape above that all the way around to make sure i didn't get over spray on the tire
5. clean the surface again with a heavy duty paper towel to make sure there's no dirt or grit on it
6. start painting. make sure u give at least an hour for each coat to dry depending on temp conditions.
7. if you did miss a spot like i did in 1 area. just let the paint dry for a good hour and a half. the reason is u want 2 make sure the paint underneath is dry.(just because the top feels dry doesnt mean the bottom layer is ) so after 1hour 1/2 press your thumb on the area kind of hard and move it around. if it feels dry then sand that area completely
8. make sure to get all grit near and around the area so the new paint can stick
that's it lol. don't rush the process. the faster you do it the worse it is. for any questions just send me a message.
PEACE!!
