Default Backup Lights Wiring on '89 F150

I have an '89 F150. The backup lights are not working. I have taken the connector apart at the neutral safety switch on the transmission and checked to see if there was voltage on the purple/orange wire with the ignition switch in the run position and there is no voltage. I checked the fuse for the backup lights which is the same as the turn signals and it is OK.

I am trying to trace the purple/orange wire back to the fuse panel. Does anyone know how the wire gets from the fuse panel to the connector at the neutral safety switch. Are there any other switches or connectors along the way that I can check?
