Default 4 8's vs 2 10's

Guys im looking to do something in my 13' screw. I am keeping the factory HU because its the nav sony. I have currently a fox acoustics box that is ports and holds 2 10'. I will have 600 watts rms to put them with a nine.2x and im getting a lc2i to drive the amp. I dont really want to lift the seat. Do you think 4 8's sealed ( because I dont think I have the room for ported) will be louder than the 2 10;s ported? Also i had toyed with the fact of putting a pair of sa8's in the 10 bou but make a baffel that will mount in where the 10's would go.

I would say 4 x 8's is definitely going to be better then 2 x 10's in terms of accuracy of Bass response assuming you have enough power to push them in a sealed enclosure.

What are the stability specs of your amp into lower Ohm loads?

If you have an amp that is stable into 2ohm or lower loads then I think you have some room to work with.

Get x 4 4ohm 8 inch subs and run them in parallel. This will maximize the output capabilities of your amp assuming it can handle the load.

Keep the box fairly small and give each sub it's own space no bigger than .75 cubic feet a piece and you will end up with a very tight bass response that can take high volumes without any fuss. Depending on the sub you choose .50 cubic feet may be even better per speaker for an 8".

I went back and fourth on this also. I ended up with 2 tens, but now I'm doing 4 10s. My buddy is doing 6 8s in his raptor, which should be interesting. I'd choose the 4 8s all day properly powered.
