Going to change water pump on 4.9L straight 6. What is nut size for fan clutch removal. Told by NAPA either 22, 48, or 50mm. Thanks

Does yours have the one that takes the special removal tool and has reverse threads ? Not sure about yours, but some of them do.

i just used a really big set of channel locks and matching sized flat head screw driver to hold it in position. tapping it a couple times seemed to help too

That might work OK. Clutch fan removal tool set is not very expensive though. The one I bought was 15 or 20 dollars. Most parts supply stores.

Not sure how to post reply, but thanks for responses. A friend shaved down his fan clutch tool to fit. Ended up between 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" with right hand threads. Thanks again
