Default 302 Timing

I bought a 92 F150 with a 302, and I think the timing is so far off that it won't even spin the rotor. Is that possible? If so how can I fix it?

No matter where the timing is, the rotor should turn. It's direct gear to gear with the camshaft. So either the camshaft is not turning (timing chain), or the gear on the distributor has a problem.

hmmmm, how capable of a mechanic are you? Chris 1 is correct, you will need to pull the disi. If its the timing chain, that may be the reason they sold it. I.E. motor is TOAST! Your state laws may protect you. I.E. non-disclosure of information (the blown motor). By the way, I am no lawyer.

Was it running when you bought it? Was it trade? Or?
