Default 302 eec to carb cam

Is the eec non roller camshaft much different than the camshaft use in the carb models.

Sure, by design purposes only, but LSA's, lift, duration, etc it is/should be identical.

The idea is less restriction on the engine. Less wear, more efficient. Allegedly. Kinda like a tip tronic transmission. Its just extra part$ added to something that works good already....

Distributors are different in these 2 cams. The gear on the distributor that is.
