Default Install a Class III hitch? 1992 F150 Supercab

I'm thinking about installing a hitch on my truck. I'm looking for any tips/lessons learned etc. Any hitch brand / model recommendations are welcome too. Would just be for occasional / general use - cheap and reliable. I don't own a trailer but may find the need to haul one in the future. Thanks!

Salvage yards is a good place to start if you want it on the cheap.
Depending on where you are, check for rust. A good coat of underbody paint makes a used one look new.

I recently took a hitch of my 96 f-250 to put on my 95 flareside, that SOB gets heavy with two people trying to hold it up the get the bolts in. If I had to do it again I would put it on a jack and press it up where you want it, shim it if you have to, then drill the holes through the frame, as far as brand name goes it shouldn't really matter it's a big steel bracket. I would just find one at the junk yard off any f series truck, it shouldn't cost much

You can't just get a hitch off any F series truck and bolt it up. The frame widths changed a couple times over the years. Get the right one and save yourself a major headache and some skinned knuckles. autoanything.com has them for $124/free shipping.
