Default Help me identify this part!!!

Trying to figure out what this is in the corner on the firewall....it has a vacuum line coming from it. I'm going through checking things because when I get the truck up to 55 the air conditioner kicks from vents to defrost. I was told it was a vacuum leak.

IIRC that would be the servo for intake air, it changes position when you select recirc or fresh air.

Defrost is the default setting for the heat/ac because that's what you absolutely have to have to drive the truck under worst conditions, if the system fails completely.
So vacuum leak sounds like a real good possibility there.
rnlcomp nailed it there I'm pretty sure. That should operate the blend door for fresh air.

Is the IIRC a possibility as to why it does that? I looked around and didn't see anything noticeable.

i replaced the check valve and repaired a vacuum line i found, i noticed today if it was on ac vent it would stay on, but if you click it to high ac vent it will do the kicking to the vents deal, im going to do what you said and check the can, and also try and find a replacement IIRC
