Default '91 F150 injector issues EEC_IV

Truck was running when my buddy pulled the engine to replace all gaskets due to internal engine leaks. Bolted motor up, but got sick of it and is paying me to finish. Everything has been bolted back together, got the timing close. Should have fired up. Didn't. Spent loads of time second guessing timing, did the TDC thing, timing is on. Still won't fire. Checked fuel rail pressure, was a tad low, so replaced fuel filter, loads of pressure at rails. Pulled a couple plugs, no fuel getting thru injectors. Tested electrics, pulses to injectors 10.5-12. Tested grounds, all seem good. I'm thinking EEC, but another guy has the same problem, said EEC did not solve. Another guy told me the distributor ignition module could be bad, but as far as I know, that is only for spark (which we get just fine), but has nothing to do with injectors. Before I throw money at an EEC, anyone have any other ideas? Bob, (307)-287-6804 or Blake (307)-274-0108

I know this is an old post....But still I had this problem on a 92 Ford Mustang 302, and I can tell you. If timing is even close, fuel is at the rails, and ignition looks good. Then it more than likely is the Magnetic pick-up in the dizzy. Or the module. The computer uses the pick-up to dictate when to fire the injectors and if it gets no signal at all it will not fire an injector. Of course this could change if you have a Crank Position sensor 5.0 but I do not know of these.

Also a very good reason to always pull a valve cover to dictate TDC on number1 cylinder before setting the timing on a 302. If its off, timing could be correct and on but the Injector could be shooting gas at a closed intake valve.

Just for anyone who comes across something like this.
