Won't Start when Hot
Hey Guys,
Just to start out im new to this site and im really not that much of a car guy but i like truck and want to keep it running well. I have a 1996 F-150 with a 4.9L straight 6 Engine. Recently i have come across a problem where if i leave the car outside in direct sun, on a hot day, for any amount of time, with the hood closed, it wont start when i get back in. So then i pop open the hood and let the hot air get out and when i try again after two or three trys it catches and runs like a champ. Also when i try to start it when the compartment is hot it rocks from side to side and then doesn't catch.
Please if anyone has any tips to solve this i would be more than grateful for them. Thanks
