Truck will turn over but not start no fire

Get an Hei ignition tester, about 16 dollars at advanced auto. I had spark, but it was weak. With the Hei tester, if you dont have a strong enough spark, it wont spark. Looks like a spark plug without an electrode on the bottom and has a clamp on it to connect to a ground. I had power to the coil, had spark (not strong enough I found out). Ended up being a bad coil. I couldnt pull codes because I had pulled the battery to charge it when my truck left me stranded and it cleared anything that may have been stored. I thought it was a fuel problem because I thought I had spark..I did, just not enough.

Pull codes if you can, if not grab a multimeter and run some diagnostics, it will help you pinpoint problems before you throw alot of money replacing random parts that may be good. Grab your haynes manual, it will help you with the diagnostics of the electrical components.

A test light will let you know if you have power to the coil, with the key in the "on" position, right side should have near 12V, left side too, then test the left side while someone turns it over and the test light should flash on and off, if not then it may be your ignition module, you can check that as well with a multimeter and a haynes manual.

Follow these tests. Personally I skipped the ones for the spark plugs and wires and went straight to the tests for the coil, control mod, and pip sensor. My coil was bad, had 12v and a good signal from the pip but wouldn't fire out. I happened to have a spare coil and swapped the plugs real quick and she started right up.
