Default Reverse lights not working

I've got a 1996 ford f-150 4.9 I6 with a 5 speed. The reverse lights don't work so I replaced the reverse light switch on the trans. It still did not make them work. What are some other things I can do that might fix it?
Thanks

Check the bulbs and the fuse. If its not that you have to test the wiring or you have a bad ground for the lights.

I have checked both the bulbs and fuse but I will make sure tomorrow. How can I tell if I have a ground problem? Sorry if this is a stupid question but I am new to this kinda stuff.
