The smoke/steam was coming from two places. From the vents in the dash and between the engine and firewall, though I can't imagine the smoke/steam coming from there if it was a heater core....could it?

Well my mom and her bf just too the truck an hour away to get another truck, another F150 at that. Just got a call from them saying the truck made it just fine, no smoke, no over heating. Hopefully it makes the hour long trip back home.

Well the truck didn't burn down lol.
The new truck is an 1989 F-150 4x4, 302 V8, auto. Not very pretty, but it will get the job done. It's going to be used to haul wood out of the woods. Part I find odd though is the fact that it has Dodge wheels on it. It's a much better work truck than mine. Not only cause it has a more powerful engine, but has over-load springs on the rear and with 4wd it can get to places my truck can't. Miles are kind of high on it, around 204k. Mine only has around 106k.
