Need help! Horn from Harbor Freight I have no idea how to hook it up.
Hi guys,
So i know this won't be everyones taste but I bought an Ooaga horn from Harbor Freight over the weekend it was only $10 so I said what the heck. Now I have no clue when it comes to electrics and I want to hook up so I can run the normal horn and then by the flick of a switch the aftermarket one.
So here is the wiring diagram I'm guessing the truck is negative ground? It's a 93 F150 4.9.

If someone could explain step by step the process because even the instructions don't make sense. That would be great
(I got the relay and wires, it mentions something bought a fuse but i don't know)

Thanks

All you have to do is cut the wire(s) from the existing horn and wire it to your new horn. Everything else in that circuit already exists on the truck.

That is if he is removing his old horn and replacing it with this, if he is trying to add this in addition to his normal horn he will need to set up new wiring.
EPIC, let me know if you need help with adding it in addition to your existing horn.
BTW their diagram lists the numbers on the relays wrong, 30 is power in 85 is ground, 86 is signal in (comes from your push button) 87 is power out (goes to your horn), 87a (if equipped) would be steady power that should be left unused for this application.

I think I would take wire 88 on the diagram (fltdriver says it's 87, he's probably right) anyway the wire that goes to your existing horn, cut it, attach a new wire (to the truck side of the cut) and run it back to whatever switch you put in your dash. It will have to have 3 connections, power in, power out A and power out B. Then run a wire from A to your existing horn (the other 1/2 of the wire you cut) and another one from B to your new horn.
It'll take a little more wire that way but easier to troubleshoot if you have any issues (or decide to take it out).

You guys are making it too hard. You don't need the relay to operate the horn, you need the relay to switch between horns. 87 would go to one horn, 87a would go to the other. 30 would be horn in, the wire that went to the horn. 86 would be to the switch for selecting which horn. Switch on would be one horn switch off would be the other horn.
