I was going to say it may be for the oil pressure sending unit/sensor but I don't think the connector looks right.
Got a better picture of where the wire originates?

Same wire, same connector on mine. After head gaskets and general top end cleaning with that, fonud same wire loose on intake.
(Note, mechanic buddy doing work for me as I was downed with an illness that kicked my buttocks for a month and change.)
Have pics, but no clue as Before shots do NOT show this wire and conn at all. Would enjoy an RKI to drop a bucketload of fresh baked clues in my empty clue bucket!

Maybe someone with a 302 has this wire hooked up to something. Then you'll know what option their truck has that needs to have this wire plugged to something.
Maybe a plug for dealers to hook up a trouble shooting machine (diagnostic). I didn't see this plug on my 91 4.9.
