Default Fuel Pumps and codes

I recently replaced both fuel pumps in my 1992 F150. Now, the cranks just fine, but with the KOEO, both front and rear fuel pumps continuously run. They cut off when I turn the key off. I changed the fuel pump relay out and it did not fix it

I also cannot get my code reader to link to the computer. I have a check engine light on and I tried to pull codes with the reader and also tried the paperclip method.

Could the 2 issues be related?

Try changing out the ECM relay If that doesn't work it could be a bad ECM. The ECM being bad would keep you from linking with it.

I have swapped the fuel pump relay with the ecm and horn relay and they all act the same. What are the chances all 3 relays in the box could be bad. And when you say ECM, you mean the actual computer on the firewall right?

Check, clean and secure all the grounds in your engine bay, pay particular attention to the one on the passenger side of the radiator, the one on the drivers side and the one near the drivers side hood hinge.

What I have seen more times then once on this board is that when the pumps wont shut down and the EEC wont go into test mode usually indicates a bad EEC.
