Default Buzzer and seat belt light

I have a 1990 ford f150 that when I put the key in the ignition the buzzer doesn't sound and when I turn the key to the on position the only lights that light are the check engine and battery light I was wondering how do I get the buzzer working again and how do I get the seat belt light to work again and the seat belt light has a new bulb

My airbag light has been blinking... its diagnosed to be the wiring from the seatbelt and its driving me nuts because I followed the wire as far back as it goes without tearing apart the whole interior of my truck, and have found nothing... The damn light wont stop blinking!!!

The light and the seat belt switch go to the same warning chime module as the lights and the door, so if you get a buzzing from those then we know the module works. They also use the same ground location which is behind the dash to the left. If you get no buzzing I would check the fuse marked #18 of its blown 15amp. Then I'd check for power at the seat belt connector itself when you turn the key on but you have to do it quickly cause the module has a built in timer that shuts off after a few seconds.

What code are you getting for the airbag? The seat belt isn't even wired to the airbag module.

Code 51 means the internal module fuse blew because the computer detected a short in the deployment circuit. It blows the fuse instead of the airbag going off in your face while driving.

On a side note, I found and interesting bit of information about the airbag module in my diagrams, "Air bag diagnostic monitors can withstand several airbag deployments and do not need to be replaced after every deployment. Only replace the airbag diagnostic monitor if it is damaged"

Wow, glad to know I can crash my truck several times and still rely on the airbag computer to work Now thats Ford tough.

Yea not if your me and the thermal fuse blew... only options are to buy and solder on a new one or buy a new module. So I'm going to the junkyard Thursday to try and pick up one that isn't blown.

You have to fix your short first, or the new module will just blow again.
