Default 95 starter on a 88

My 88 bronco that has a 5.0 is going to need a starter and the 95 F150 in a local pull that has a 5.8 I grabbed the trans out of still has the starter hanging by the cable so I was wondering if the 95 starter will work in my 88 if I also get the cables and solenoid with it.

I don't think so. Pretty sure 88 still had the old 3156 ? monster on it. Positive that 87 did. 95 will have the newer gear reduction.
Unless you took the flywheel/flex plate and the metal dowel plate with the transmission, then it would work fine, other than a little rewiring.

The 88 does have the normal looking starter that was used for many years,it does take the same starter as my 89 crown vic and might grab a couple from the local U pull yard to keep in stock. Might grab that 95 starter for my 95 while I am there.
