Just wandering if anyone can tell me what color wires is what. To the best of my knowledge my truck has the following wire colors.

ORANGE
YELLOW w/ I think a blue stripe.
BLACK
BROWN or a TAN like color.

I'm putting a new fuel pump and lines on the truck along with a new tank because the PO has everything on it rigged together and in a complete mess, I just don't want to cross wire anything because the pump dont have wiring instructions with it just a new plug to put on the truck harness with wire colors that match the new pump's wires which are obvious to tell what is what.

This truck is a 95 f150 with a 4.9 and a single tank which is 19gallon and behind the rear axle if it makes a difference.

I put a new Rear fuel tank with a complete new fuel pump and sending unit. The new unit came with a different plug. So changed the plug on the truck because it came with a new one. The problem is that the new set up has different color wires. I tried to set match up the wires to he best of my ability. I have reinstalled everything and I can not get it to turn over. Is there a way to see if it is even pumping fuel. Or a way to see if I even put the wires right?

yea, the new pump should have came with wiring instructions or at least mine did anyway.

BUMP. Doing this on my truck today. Just putting this out there for future peoples. This is what my truck has and the new harness that came with my spectra pump.

When comparing wiring colors, make sure you are looking at the harness you disconnected under the truck, NOT at the wires on the old sending unit/pump assembly.
