Default 94/95 Gauge Cluster with Tach Wanted!

Hey All - just thought i'd throw this on here in case anyone has (or knows where I can find) a gauge cluster for 1995 F150 with tachometer. I've got the cluster without tachometer currently. I'll search a few salvage yards, but thought i'd post here first.

Be sure to watch the manufacture date, 94 and first half of 95 are interchangeable, last 6 months of 95 (?for some reason?-maybe getting ready for obdII switch) have had mixed reviews when being placed in early 95 or any 94, same goes with the reverse. There are some that have had no problem with the late year swap. Just to be safe though it's best to stick with your group, 94 and up to 6/95, or 7/95-12/95.

FLT - How can I see the date of manufacture for my truck (down to the month level) and cluster?

I've had a few people PM mentioning that they would be interested in selling -- But can I use an SN or something to determine compatibility in first or second half of 95?

I think the door jamb has date of manufacture, haven't really looked to be honest with you.

I suppose the other option is to install an aftermarket tach. Pretty simple i'd imagine.. but wouldn't' look as nice.

So this gets more interesting.... The date that my window sticker was printed is 5/09/95. So the assembly date of the truck could be before or after that by any number of days...

...That is cutting it really close. There is no way that i'm going to be able to get this right without guess and check.

Maybe i'll just leave it.

All done. Found one on ebay for $60. Switched my speedo/PSOM to the new cluster /w tach and good to go!

Ford ETIS confirmed that my truck was indeed built on 5/12/95. Truck's 20th birthday is coming up next week.

When you did the std cluster to the tach cluster, it was just plug it in and it all works?
I have a 96 F150 EB and thinking of doing the same.

Yep -- Just remove the cluster, put the new cluster in, and plug in all the connectors.

It was more than a 20 minute project, but probably only an hour and total, and most of that was spent trying to get the gear selector in and out of the cluster in the tight space.

MAKE SURE you have the correct cluster. You MUST use a cluster from a '96 to my understanding. Go on ebay and look, the seller 'cantkeepeverything' (http://www.ebay.com/usr/cant_keep_ev...p2047675.l2559) has lots of clusters, and he helps you verify that you are buying the right cluster for your truck.
