Sorry for the delay in getting back to this, it was the same delay on getting back to working on my truck.

So I checked out the on-line sources, for the Backup/Neutral Safety (MLPS) Switch and decided to go with the local Napa store, because they are good support types. They sold me the Napa Echlin Part number NS6528 v13060‏. After wrestling with trying to get the electrical installation done, I ran out of time and had to go away on a job for a couple weeks. That let me think about this part situation, which caused me to put the following email together to Napa Customer Support.

Greetings;

I have been a Napa customer for years and I happen to have an excellent team of support people at the local Napa store. However, I have come across a part that I think you guys have REALLY screwed up.

I bought this Backup/Neutral Safety (MLPS) Switch for my 1993 F150. It came with a different electrical plug on it than is on my truck. It also came with instructions to remove the pins from the old plug on my truck and install them in the provided plug. REALLY?

Would someone please Fire/sack/string-up the engineers that came up with this design. I am laying on my back underneath my truck trying not to break it's wiring harness and get all of the connectors into the right place into the new one so that it will work. I am following instructions that should have been written by someone who has does this process. The instructions are terrible. There are far too many ways to screw this installation up.

It does not take a genius to ask why did you not just come up with and adapter from the old plug to the new plug or better yet, just make the plug interface on the new switch match the original plug.

As I said in the beginning of this message I have BEEN a good Napa customer for years. After this I am going to rethink my parts sources.

Regards
Patrick
The problem is that I have not been able to figure out how to get the pins out of the old plug without damaging any thing. Everyone tells me that there is a pin on each of those connectors and if you "push" is the connector will come right out. I am sure if you do this every day, that might be true.

The moral of this story is that I still do not have "Blue" running after taking many hours trying to change out a switch that should have taken less than 30 minutes.

not pleased at the moment.
